If he married Mary E. Siler in Campbell Cty, TN in 1874, where was he in 1870?
Info on his middle name comes from Hazel Swick
He is not found on 1880 KY census (SV-16) - could he still be living in TN???
This marriage info from IGI is probably him (SV-20)
At the time of his death it was alleged that he had 13 bullet wounds. (SV-1578)
The family believes that James Vernon found silver on some of his land and while bringing 13 pack mules loaded with silver ore down from the mountain they were attacked by Indians (is this reasonable in the 1880s?). They hid the ore while fighting for their lives and later could not find the hiding place. (SV-1578)
