1880 census indicates she was born ca. 1855 (SV-314)
1850 VA census: Living in Lee co., VA aged 1, with parents and 3 siblings (SV-225 & SV-363)
1860 Lee co., VA census: Aged 11, living with parents and 6 siblings. (SV-404 pg 93 & SV-715)
1870 VA census: Living in Lee co. aged 20 with parents and 6 siblings and James Hutton. (SV-713)
1878 Father’s will left her $50. (SV-404 pg 66)
1880 VA census: Living in Lee co. with mother, 4 brothers, son and 2 nephews. (SV-314)
She never married but family stories said that “Old Ben Shupe” who was married and lived nearby would sneak over to see her and was the father of her two children (SV-205)
