1795 Benjamin Bentley made a trip to Lincoln co., NC from Iredell co., NC to help his brother, Daniel settle their father’s estate. They sold land that Thomas Bentley had bought in 1783 but 25 acres were withheld from the sale for the use of Hannah Bentley “widow and relict of Thomas Bentley (Lincoln co. Deed Book 17 pg 211). By 1800 He had migrated to Kentucky, where he was the first Bentley in eastern KY. (SV-676)
