Geo. D. Kilbourn’s book says “left home at the age of sixteen; was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. a grant of land from the Government for his service in the war being located in Virginia he took up his residence in that state and remained there until his death in 1823.” (SV-556 pg 78)
I, David Attride, can not confirm his Revolutionary War service from books at the Asheville, NC library. (SV-873)
