During World War II he was asked to become temporary pastof of a Disciple of Christ church in Knoxville, TN. Following that he attended Milligan College in Johnson City, TN and then Univ. of TN in Knoxville. 1935 he accepted a call to the Christian Church in San Benito, TX and then in 1937 a call back to his church in Knoxville, TN; then on to Union City, TN and he retired in 1963.
