1812 letter from Moses Weidenthal: “Dearest Most Valued Heart:
Making it known to you our happy coming back home about which you have greatly concerned yourself and where I have refreshed myself. When I only have the good fortune to write to you which is present.
My mother’s health is good. She wished to speak with you when there is an opportunity.
Should I write to you how things are going with me?
Dear child I can give you so much information about that. I am now with my lonliness very badly unhappy. I can’t wait for the coming time to pass. I promise myself however, most valued heart, to speak much more with you by mouth soon. When only my wish will be fulfilled and my request allowed. I request of your father and mother that they would do me the pleasure and allow you to come to the market at Strakonitzer where your dearest is desirous and promises to accompany you back again to Slavkovitz.
Back to there, Rivkaleben, shall nothing befall you while I am at all able for I know that you are being entrusted to me by the life of your dear mother.
This I hope to be able to obtain from her. I close my writing in sincere hope that you will forgive when I have made many error. I remain your upright Chossen (sic)
Farewell, Moses Weidenthal.” (MM-200.1)
