Birth ca 1853 according to 1880 census. (SV-345) WRONG she is listed on 1850 census
SV-277 indicates some info that she was a Seminole Indian - but there is nothing to indicate she was from Florida !!
Followup on this Seminole thing: John Green said in Sep. 2001 that his sister, Barbara Frain has information saying Charlotte Cress was indeed a Seminole Indian and that she was born on Indian land in Florida. I will write her. (SV-512)
SV-165 indicates she was born in May 1853 in KY
SV-188 & SV-277 indicates they believe she was born in Wise co., VA; 15 Oct. 1849
SV-242 indicates she was born in Hazard, Perry Co., KY

1880 KY census: Living in Leslie Co. with 2 daughters and brother, it calls her Charlotte CRACE - no signs of a husband on the census. (SV-345)
1900 KY census: Living with Wm Green (she is his mother-in-law) in Leslie Co., KY (SV-165)
1910 Leslie co. census: Widow living with Wm Green (SV-296)
1920 KY census: Aged 69 living in Leslie Co. with son-in-law, Willie Green. (SV-821)
1930 U.S. Census (Ancestry.com): Sim Green (58 KY) living in Cutshin, Leslie Co., KY with wife Nancy (52 KY), married 38 yrs with 3 sons: Chester (25 KY); Israel (18 KY) and Johniie (14 KY) and mother-in-law, Lottie Cress (75 KY).
