Record of Lutheran Church in New Hope, Bucks co., PA says: “Sommer, Johannes, b. 13 Dec. 1746, bap. 01 Jan 1747, parents are George and Maria Margareth, sponsors are Johannes Stebeltaun and Maria Margareth Geiger. Baptism record says 1746 but cemetery record says 1740. Headstone is well worn in spots so 1746 does look like 1740. (SV-507 pg 7)

Will Book 9, pg 281, dated 26 Apr 1803, proved 27 Jun 1803. Written originally in German and translated; signed in German. Abstract from Chalkley from Vol. III, pg 224 says: “To wife Elizabeth; son, John (already provided for); daughters, Mary Doame, Barbara Hull, Elizabeth Peck, ditto; to sons, David, Henry, Jacob; to children not before named; viz: Margaret, Catherine, Eve. Executors, Daniel Peck, Daniel Hull. Test.: Jno Young, Frederick Henger, Christian Baird. Proved 27 Jun 1803. Executors qualify.” (SV-507 pg 7)
1803 Will: In the name of God Amen this Twenty Sixth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Three, I John Summers of the County of Augusta and State of Virginia being weak and sick of body but of sound mind and perfect memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to dye (sic) do make this my last will and testament as follows viz I Bequeath my soul to God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in Christian and decent burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection Shall receive the same by the mighty power of god (sic) and as Touching such worldly goods as it hath pleased god (sic) to bless me with in this life I give devise and set off in manner and form as follows Viz. I order that all my Just Debts and funeral charges be discharged and paid. To my well beloved wife Elizabeth I give one third of the plantation I now live on during her widowhood. Likewise one third of all the moveable property and one third of the mansion during her widowhood: once as several of my children have received certain portions already Viz. my son John has recev’d sixty seven pounds. I order that each of my other sons in the first place equal to him and as some of my daughters have Received portions Viz. Mary Doame Barbara hull (sic) Elizabeth Peek I order that each of the other daughters receive equal to them in the first place I give to Mary Dome (sic) twelve pounds extraordinary which she has already received and I give to my three sons David Henry Jacob the place I live on Five Hundred Fifty pounds and the other purchases of Piper (sic) at six hundred pounds which sums are to be divided amoung the whole of my children including said David Henry and Jacob in such way that the part of each son be double that of my Daughters and I order that my three sons David Henry and Jacob the privilege of using said places two years with all the moveable property for the purpose the debts and maintaining the family and if they should fail in paying the debts in the two years then the Executors pay them out of the moveable property which I order to be sold at that time and whatever debts they pay in the two years out of the profit of the places they be allowed in discount of the price of the land and to my son David I give fifteen pounds per year for two years if he works the place for the purpose above mentioned and I order that my sons who get the lands begin in eight years to pay of (sic) the legacies and pay one every two years according to their Births beginning at the oldest the years to be reconed from my decease and I order that my moveable property be divided and paid in like manner of my land. I give to my wife her bed and its furniture it is to be noted that Margaret Catherine Eve is the names of those not named above who are to recieve legacies and I do hereby constitute Daniel Peck (or Peek) and Daniel Hull the Executors of this my last will and Testament and do hereby disannul revoke and utterly make void all and every other will Testament Legacies or bequeath by me heretofore made or given ratifying and confirming this and no other my last will and testament. I witness hereby I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day above written:

This last will and Testament of John Summers deceased was proved by the oath of he Executors therein named, who made oath according to Law, and together with Andrew Peck and Frederick Hanger their Securities unto and acknowledge their bond in the penalty of fifteen hundred Dollars conditions as the Law directs, certificate is granted them for obtaining a probat thereof in due form. April 1803 John Summers purchased 150 acres in Augusta co., VA from Adam Fifer Jr. & Catherine, his wife, for 630 pounds sterling. This is probably another John Summer! (SV-495)
His will was probated in 1806 in Augusta co., VA To wife, Elizabeth; son, John; daughters: Mary Doame, Barbara Hull, Elizabeth Peck; to sons, David, Henry, Jacob, to children not before named, viz: Margaret, Catherine, Eve. Executors: Daniel Peck & Daniel Hull. (SV-351 & SV-1583.16)
