Wythe Co., VA Court Orders: Mar. 14, 1809 “Samuel Williams appointed guardian of Samuel, Andrew, and Joshua Grace (Cress?) orphans of Nickolas Grace (Groce?, Cress?) deceased.” Note: Samuel is 15 yrs old; Andrew is 13 yrs old; Joshua is 10 yrs old. (SV-1651.4)

April 1830: He was living in Augusta Co., VA and was given power of attorney by George & John Cress to collect monies from Henry Cress executor of estate of Geo Cress, deceased. So this document proves that Nicholas Cress was a son of George Cress. (SV-288)
