1850 VA census: Living in Lee co., VA aged 8, with parents and 3 siblings (SV-225 & SV-363)
1860 VA census: She (aged 18) and Godfrey (aged 23) were living in house with James W. Cress in Lee co., VA. (SV-404 pg 10 & SV-715
During the Civil War she lived with her parents while Godfrey fought for the Union. (SV-404 pg 74)
Civil War: She and a young male friend tried to sneak from Cedar Hill, Lee co. to Cumberland Gap to take provisions to Godfrey. Some Confederate soldiers found them and threatened to kill the young man. Nancy successfully pleaded for his life and they were forced to turn back for home. (SV-404 pg 75)
Following the Civil War they moved to Knox co., KY and lived out their lives there. (SV-404 pg 10)
SV-242 says she died 22 Apr 1924
