1863 Civil War he join the 13th regiment of the Tenn. Calvary (Union) in Kentucky (SV-205 & 404 pg 10 & pg 74)
He served in the same regiment as Daniel N. Cress and James Cress (Dan’s brother). SV-404 pg 74
