He he has a son, John, who was living in Russell co., VA in 1812 and is mentioned in SV-356 page 2?
June 1806 John Summers Sr. of Augusta co., VA notes that he served as a “private soldier” for 7 years in the 47th Regiment of Foot commanded by Leutenant General Pengrini LaSalles (writing is hard to read) and had a discharge certificate dated 6 Sep. 1763 signed by Spilaer (sp?), Major of said Regiment. This service entitled him to a certain quantity of land under the proclamation of the King of England. Now John Summers sells this land to Andrew Summers for 5 pounds sterling. John Summers Sr. made his mark. References Samuel Summers. (SV-495) Is this the Samuel?? Yes, according to SV-507 pg 4.
SV-507 pg 5 indicates Samuel may have died in Kentucky.
