Sometime after Thomas’ murder, she was institutionalized for insanity. Their children were placed in an orphanage. About 1939 the orphanage contacted James Alvis Cress and informed him of the situation. Beatrice Cress was placed with Ollie in Kansas City or St. Louis. Irene and Earl were placed with James Alvis Cress. (SV-596)
