Aug 1775 and a Oct 1775 letter to the SC Council of Safety, from Col. Richard Richardson (of Sumter Co., SC) says Drewery F is listed on roll of men on provincial service in Set. 1775. (SV-1004)

1809 He petitioned the Virginia General Assembly for a divorce from Sarah Benham stating that about 1800 she eloped with Edward Wilburn. Affidavits of Sarah infidelity (and his high character) were given by his neighbors but also by the brother and mother of Sarah. It was sometime during this period that Dolly Bausell (or Bausley) became his housekeeper. (SV-404 pg 364 & details in SV-938)

“To the honorable the General Assembly of Virginia. The petition of Drury Fletch humbly represents that nine years ago (ca 1800-1801) his wife, Sarah, without any cause or ill treatment within the knowledge of your petitioner, eloped from him and fled with a certain Edward Wilburn into a neighboring State, and has as your petitioner is informed since married the said Wilburn, & continues to live with him ... Your petitioner ... humbly submits the foregoing facts to the consideration of your honorable body praying that a law may pass divorcing him from said Sarah.”
